At Astounding Adventures we take our corporate environmental responsibility very seriously.
We try to minimise impactWhere possible we liaise with landowners to limit the impact of our activities on the local environment.
We take out whatever we take in and clear litter where we find it. At crags and other sensitive upland environments we carry out all human waste and associated litter.
By employing a network of local guides around the country, we are able to minimise the number of motorway and air miles we travel. This keeps our carbon footprint low.
We also have a policy of mend and make good with our equipment, though not obviously when it comes to critical climbing gear.
We try our best to help fragile rural/upland economies by sourcing goods and services locally. We also do this down at Astounding Adventure HQ where possible.
At Astounding Adventure HQ we try to run a paperless office, but where we do generate paper waste, we send it all off to be recycled. Where possible we only use stationary that has been made from recycled or sustainable sources. All of our leaflets and advertising materials are made from recycled pulp.
We are committed to buying and selling Fairtrade products where possible. Beyond this we are committed to paying all of our suppliers fairly and on time.
When you attend a course we'll always offer you a cup of Fair Trade tea, coffee or hot chocolate before and after your course.
We also sell Torq energy drinks and food at our courses, which are all made from fairly traded, natural ingredients.
