Previous experience
You must be a competent off-road mountain biker able to ride with confidence and commitment.
You will get the most out of the course if you have already attended a Core Skills course.
Preparation and fitness
The good news is that you don't have to be ultra-fit to get the most out of this course.
We will be riding our bikes for about four hours, though not constantly and at an easy pace.
We'll also be stopping regularly to coach skills.
Consolidation and practice
We recommend that you take what you've learned straight out on the trail and practice the skills as much as possible before moving up to the next course.
Riding once or twice a week will help cement your new skills.
Don't forget to session the bits you have the most difficulty with as this will help them become natural.
Equipment required
Please refer to our equipment page for a complete list.
You won't need to carry tools, a trailside repair kit or a first aid kit as your coach will have all of these.
