Core Skills - Foundations
So you're completely new to mountain biking and are unsure where to start. We'll get you moving in the right direction; from selecting the right gear to how to brake safely, we'll give you the basic skills to get you riding off-road for the first time.
Our Core Skills - Foundations coaching course will give you a foundation in core mountain bike skills that you can apply to any terrain, in any location, in any conditions.
Following training both total novices and relative newbies to the world of mountain biking will have the confidence to go off-road on their own.

What better time to put into practice all your newly acquired skills than to join us in the afternoon, after a hearty pub lunch of course, for a superb guided singletrack ride around the local hills and valleys.
Guided singletrack rides cost just £25 (or £30 on the day) and usually last around 3-3½ hours.
This is the first cycling coaching I have paid for and it won't be my last with Astounding Adventures!

Shortly after your course you will receive personalised feedback, an action plan to help you stay on track with your riding and 30 days free support.
No off-road experience is required, but you must be able to ride a bike.
The good news is that you don't have to be ultra-fit to get the most out of this course.
We will be riding our bikes for about four hours, though not constantly and at an easy pace.
We'll also be stopping regularly to coach skills.
We recommend that you take what you've learned straight out on the trail and practice the skills as much as possible before moving up to the next course.
Riding once or twice a week will help cement your new skills.
Don't forget to session the bits you have the most difficulty with as this will help them become natural.

You won't need to carry tools, a trailside repair kit or a first aid kit as your coach will have all of these.
