Adventure Race Skills coaching

Why Adventure race skills coaching?

Maybe you're an adventure race novice just getting into the sport but you don't know where to start, or perhaps you've tried a few races and want to improve your performance. Our Adventure Race Skills Coaching courses may be just the thing you're looking for.

Our courses are designed to give you the techniques to go quicker and with more confidence on the MTB stages and to sharpen up your navigation skills both on foot and in the saddle; so you'll never loose time pondering over the map. We also look at race planning, strategy, tactics and equipment in our bi-annual AR Skills Lecture.

There are four courses in our Adventure Race Skills Coaching programme:

All our coaches are all seasoned adventure racers as well as mountain bikers, orienteers and mountaineers, so you'll be able to benefit from the years of experience they have had racing in the mountains and back country.

Once you've learned your new skills, or improved existing skills, there are literally hundreds of races around the country each year and plenty of short, half day races for the beginner to get your teeth into such as Endurance Life, Open Adventure, Ace Races, Rat Races, Questars and Dynamic Adventure.

Course venues

Our adventure race skills courses are held regularly throughout the year in The Surrey Hills and in the following locations between April and September:

  • Dalby Forest in The Yorkshire Moors
  • Grizedale Forest in The Lake District
  • Gwydyr Forest in North Wales
  • Lee Quarry in Lancashire

Bike Hire

We have a fleet of Specialized bikes, helmets, gloves and Camelbaks available for hire.
