Preparation and fitness
The good news is that you don't have to be ultra-fit to get the most out of this course.
We will be out in the hills walking for about four hours, though not constantly and at an easy pace.
We will be stopping regularly to coach different skills.
Consolidation and practice
We recommend that you take what you've learned straight out on the trail and practice the skills as much as possible before moving up to the next course.
A walk or run in the countryside once or twice a week will help cement your new navigation skills. Try to concentrate on the bits you have the most difficulty with as this will help them become second nature.
Equipment required
Please refer to our equipment page for a complete list.
You won't need to carry first aid kit or shelter as your coach will have all of these.
